KZPS - HD 2 -- Gone ? ?

Mine wouldn't even bring up HD1, only the analog signal. But I've seen other stations take HD2 or all HD off for a little while here and there.

The Oasis (KMVK 107.5 HD-2) is still cutting out about every three songs for a few seconds.

Don't know anything about that, I just know I saw the guys out working on 'zps :) I assume they took the whole HD system down while they have their hands inside it. I know I would!

The HD-2 is back up. Different and less sound quality than the HD-1, doing the A-B, or in this case, the 1-2 Test. They're definitely giving more digital bits to the HD-1 channel !

BTY, here's a strange pairing that just aired on HD-2:

Whitesnake (I don't remember the name of the song now, but, you know, it was about sliding something in, or something like that....)

then....

"Sentimental Lady" by Fleetwood Mac ???

I feel a little queasiness in my gut right about now.

I almost can expect "Muskrat Love" to come on next . . .

Fleetwood Mac? You meant Bob Welch, right?

There actually are 2 versions (at least) of Sentimental Lady.

The original version was done by Fleetwood Mac w/Bob Welch on Bare Trees in 1972.

Bob Welch did it as a solo artist on French Kiss in 1977. The French Kiss version was backed by Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, and Mick Fleetwood.

The French Kiss version was a bigger hit commercially and is more often heard on the radio.

I was about to post some of this, thanks. However, Joel Whitburn's music books state only McVie and Buckingham are a part of Bob's version. They did backup vocals only, in that version.

I always liked the original '72 version, which is far superior, and not truncated like the '77 version. Sometimes first is best.

I know I'm in a tiny minority, but the pre-Nicks/Buckingham incarnations of Fleetwood Mac were much better than the over-commercialized later years. Of course that pretty much is the case when comparing late 60's/early 70's Progressive Rock to the AOR it morphed into.

I looked at the liner notes in the original 1977 LP of French Kiss, which I have. For Sentimental Lady, it shows Mick Fleetwood on drums, Lindsey Buckingham on guitars and background vocals, Christine McVie on keyboards and background vocals, and Bob Welch on vocals and bass. Lindsey and Christine also produced the song.

Ebony Eyes was the other hit on that album.

Interesting

Joel’s book states that Buckingham & McVie only did backup vocals, on Welsh’s version.

One other Bob Welch song I liked and I think it was from the same album had the verse or title of

"Hot Love in a Cold World" or something like that. It was a pretty good song as well.

One of the BEST Fleetwood Mac songs ever was, "Hypnotized" and that was before Buckingham/Nicks joined the band, I believe.
But I could be wrong.
