....Well, sorta!

I was listening to and surfing the website of PowerFM(91/92FM) in The Canary Islands early Tuesday morning here in South Carolina. I went to the contact part of their sister station, PowerFM Gold and saw an interesting ad..

Click the link immediately below for an image of what I saw...

Now, mind you.. I know that's a Google Ad, but it just made me chuckle a little.

Actually, if you visit http://www.chalkhillmedia.org/kzqx/friends.html, you'll see there's more truth to the "internationality" of QX-FM than you might think. With the quality that Chuck puts into it, I'm not surprised to know it's developed the following it has.

I'm the General Manager of KZQX. I have no idea why this string is moving all over this board. We are an East Texas LPFM, which also streams on the Internet. We do have listeners all over the world. We are happy about that, but it is not what we are all about. We are really just a local radio station serving a group of people who had more or less abandoned radio. Most of our listeners are over the air. Arbitron will support that claim.

If a lot of people all over the world choose to tune in, that's fine by me, but it tells me that these people get something from a very small East Texas radio station that they are not getting from major broadcasters. Perhaps other stations are missing something....

Chuck:

My original post was just to kinda show how funny it was to see an ad for a radio station on ANOTHER radio stations website.

I wish this thread would stop moving and be put back where it is.

That is pretty funny. I guess there is nothing sacred if you agree to post Google ads on your web site.

THis is weird, but somehow the KZQX-LP post ended up on the South Carolina board, but then they mvoed it. I live in Upstate SC now, but never psoted it there...
