KZRO Weed/Mt.Shasta

I clicked in online, expecting Oldies or maybe, Classic Rock, but, I'm hearing political talk. The web addy I found for them takes me to zchannel.com and features classic rock programming. So what am I hearing at 9PM? I haven't caught any program or host name yet, but it doesn't sound familiar.

Was KZRO sold recently? I remember seeing an asking price of $1 million some years ago, which included a CP for a bigger signal, but I don't recall ever seeing that it sold. Seems it was a one-man operation, owner/operator that played a pretty good selection of tunes when I used to listen online back then.

Can someone share what they might know about what's happening with KZRO lately?

Z-100 is just getting in some local "Lib" Public Service programming from 9 to 10 PM - nightly. Otherwise -- it's just all Dennis Michaels -- all day and all night -- with his "private" mix of classic rock. Dennis is one of the Blues Brothers from Cook County, Illinois who got lost in the land of "Jefferson".KZRO has 100 times the Internet listeners - as - over the air ears. Good rock N roll sound.

Is Z100 still up for sale? How well does it cover population centers like Redding?

It's been awhile since I've been up there but no well at all. Very noisy if memory serves me right.

KZRO hired a good enginner that got them a CP for a class C1 that will cover the entire Redding market area. Now all that KZRO needs is to build-out the C1 CP.

Just looked that up, very nice! Looks like it's been approved for awhile now. Why no action?
