Sacramento media fixture Sonia Jimenez is making the big transition from radio to television as she has resigned as APD/MD of CBS Radio Hot AC KZZO (Now 100.5) and MD of Rhythmic KSFM and is crossing the street to Tribune Broadcasting's KTXL (Fox 40) as Promotion Manager. Her last day at KZZO is today. Jimenez started her radio career as an intern at KSFM back in 1988. She later went on to serve as APD/MD of KGGI/Riverside, air talent at KTFM/San Antonio and MD of KZZO during a previous tour of duty in 1998-99. Jimenez was Marketing Director at Clear Channel's KHYL & KFBK Sacramento when she got the big call in 2006 and moved to New York as Director of Promotions for Clear Channel Urban WWPR (Power 105.1). She returned to Sacto a year later as PD of Clear Channel AC KGBY (Y92.5) and was rehired as APD/MD of KZZO in January of 2010. "This is a great opportunity," said Jimenez, telling RAMP about her new gig. "I'm thrilled for my new adventure and also sad that I won't get to see people I really like here every day at CBS Sacramento."
