KZZO obviously not important enough for its own PD

Cherese? Are you kidding me? CBS has decided to give a PD that programs two other stations in two markets and might I add to very dismal numbers (Mix in Vegas was a 5.1 Summer of 08 and is now a 3.6) to program KZZO. Let me guess, she will come in to the market once a month? This is why CBS stations have continued to fall in the ratings month after month. Outside of KSFM and Byron Kennedy there is NOT AN OUNCE OF TALENT in the CBS Sacramento chain. Jeff McMurry was a talent and lost his gig... Someone might want to get the GM to stop washing his pretty Mercedes and wake up before he is number 65 on the unemployment line. Ohh yea and nice summer show.

Several things:

Charese is not a good PD. She is an EXCELLENT self-promoter.

Charese is cheap at this point. Trust me, that position should pay about 6 figures...and she is probably making 1/5th that to babysit.

Mark & Mercedes are already at one of her stations, not like she needs to be in Sacto to manage them.

CBS needs a placeholder until they can sell the stations. And, Charese is notorious for continually job-hunting. This pacifys her to a certain extent.

This move was all about saving $$$, until they can unload it. There are plenty of good-great Hot AC PD's who would make it shine. But they would cost $$$.

I'd also expect KZZO to start playing a LOT of odd-sounding music. She is very aggressive, due to her relationships with the record labels. She LOVES the record game. This can only spell disaster for KZZO. Plus, she is only a part-time PD at a station that truly needs one (KMXB). Same deal with KZZO. You put someone in there who can take the time to make it sparkle, it could be great. I'm scratching my head over this, big time.

12 months, tops.

i just fell out of my chair laughing.

jeff mcmurray? talent? in the same sentence? dude whose your "connection", i'd love to get a hold of whatever shit you're smoking.

i'm interested to see how the numbers do. anything they do has GOT to be an improvement on the playlist the zone had before.

Come on, the CBS Sacramento stations are up for sale. The parent isn't going to spend any money in Sacramento and the market
manager is just trying to keep his job for the time being by being as cheap as possible. That's why their products all suck. Lets
hope the new buyer sinks some funding into this market and dumps Mr. Mercedes Benz.

I doubt if my friend, Craig McCoy of Lake Oswego, OR would be interested in buying the Sacramento stations since he sold his radio company in 2000 in just three medium-sized markets & I don't he's not interested in buying any markets like Sacramento. But if McCoy is not interested in buying those stations, I think Alpha Broadcasting of Portland or Bonneville International of Salt Lake City would be the good candidates to buy the Sac stations from CBS.

"odd sounding?"

In other words, she has the nerve to deviate from the charts and play new music? Gasp. She'll ruin KZZO. ::)

What'll happen at KZZO is the same thing that seems to be happening at Mix in Vegas - the playlist will start to change more and more until Zone sounds exactly like Sophie in San Diego.

I'll admit Sophie had a lot more edge and variety when they launched.
