“Radio Korea USA,” which operates ethnic KMPC Los Angeles (1540), has been slapped with another copyright infringement lawsuit in federal court for a photo posted to the station’s website. This time the complaint is from Fotohaus, owned by photographer Daniel Foster, who specializes in abstract architecture photos that focus on lines and geometry. The suit, filed in U.S. District Court in the Central District of California, alleges Radio Korea copied Foster’s photo entitled “Coronavirus” and placed in on their website, presumably in an article about the COVID-19 virus.
“Defendants copied and distributed Fotohaus’ copyrighted Work in connection with Defendants’ business for purposes of advertising and promoting Defendants’ business, and in the course and scope of advertising and selling products and services,” the complaint says.
The lawsuit was directed KMPC's management over use of artwork from a company called Fotohaus.
