L.A. Host Working For Two Competing Radio Stations/Companies On The Same Day!

Former KLSX host Sam Phillips just posted on her Facebook page that she is going to be co-hosting a law show at 4 PM on KABC, and then at 6 PM will be co-hosting a two-hour home show on KFWB. How in the world does she get away with that? Unless these are brokered shows.

It's likely that both of those shows are infomercials, and she is being paid by the producer, and not working for either station.

Re: L.A. Host Working For Two Competing Radio Stations/Companies On The Same Day

This is nothing new...Tim Conway Jr. works at KNX and KFI on Saturdays. Then, doesn't he work at KFWB as well? This is all kind of funny because, just two days ago Sam and I were tweeting each other about hosts working two jobs. In one of the tweets she replied "dude, most hosts have two jobs."

The real question is how is she able to get from on radio studio to the other so quickly?!

Could be that she does the show from another location and not from either station or the shows are pre-recorded.

In the PPM world, the station doesn't have to worry about whether you correctly attribute your listening based on writing down who you listened to where (or on which station). So chalk this up to another case of the world around you changing because the only thing that matters is whether the person carrying the PPM device is in the area where your station's signal code can be picked up.
