LA AM for sale

The station has abandoned Radio Disney's main stream and was doing a country "version" and even tried to (illegally) install a translator for it.
This, plus Radio Disney has completely been swept from OTA radio outlets. The stream and I believe SXM are all that's left of RD. Besides, streaming is where the kids are now.

Speculation: Radio Disney is still a pop music network (in the informal sense), but most remaining listeners are streaming it because the AM stations have been largely abandoned or sound like crap. Having KRDC continue to be the OTA "flagship" guarantees that Disney continues to qualify for broadcast-tier publisher royalty costs and no performance royalties, compared to all-streaming services such as Spotify. The Soundscan savings might justify the ongoing operating costs of the station, which would be low overhead, no incremental headcount, and basically a sunk cost (except for electricity and minimal technical maintenance).
KRDC hasn’t carried Radio Disney in a year and nine months. It switched to a simulcast of 710 on April 14, 2021.

Disney Hits only playing the soundtrack library from their film library. I know it's on SXM btw along with Apple Music and Spotify.

I think Audacy should buy both KLAA and KRDC. Even we're unable to get a yes vote for sports betting in CA but doesn't mean we talk about sports on the radio. KRDC should be add some overflow stuff like LA Kings, USC, and UCLA.

I think the ship has sailed on Audacy doing anything sports related in L.A. That kind of move would’ve been ideal when Jim Rome was still relevant - and before they flipped 97.1

In any case, it makes more sense for Good Karma to take over both 710 and 1110.

And in case anyone has forgotten, Audacy is having serious money problems at the moment.

And if I'm not mistaken, they are at the cap in LA so they couldn't add another station if they wanted to without subtracting one they currently own.

Look a bit up the coast at the San Francisco market. Audacy hasn't exactly been setting the dial on fire with its 95.7/KGMZ, "The Game". And that's on FM! So even if they had the headroom to buy another station down there, is that really the winningest strategy for them?

Its not. I’m not sure how SF market works. I was born and raised in West L.A. But, it’s not. 710 and 570 draw files. But, make money. CBS even knew their own sports radio product wouldn’t work in L.A. It would be a huge mistake for any company to flip an fm to sports. People in L.A. like sports, but very few are passionate about it. There’s just too many other things to do.

3ams/5fms. Audacy only has 1am/5fms in LA.

Add sports

KNX (AM)

Has anyone else noticed that during the KNX 1070 Saturday 6a-10a infomercial block, there were the sounds of what I would call "War Drums" beating after the last spot/program, continuously each hour from about :30 (sec.) prior to the T.O.H. CBS News? A stunting before other format? A sale? The $$ value of this station is not increasing. Thoughts?
I have decided to use this thread instead of starting another one. Hope that's O.K.
