LA Based Internet Stations

Hello, does anyone here run any sort of talk/news/music radios in the LA area? What sort of streaming platforms are you using?

I am based in LA and run www.musiccountdowns.com. I use Live365. Very easy to get started and small packages include Soundexchange license and as you grow you can expand you bandwidth, sell ads thru them etc. I started with about 20 listeners per day and now have over 10,000 per day

...I do a weekend retro music show on http://killradio.org. We have two streams, running through Icecast. Killradio is the oldest continuously-operating independent media Internet audio stream in Los Angeles, having started as the Indymedia L.A. radio stream during the 2000 Democratic Convention, covering the protests there...

Nice live365 is cool, but I don't like how you have to pay for it. www.radionomy.com offers a free service and actually lets you monetize your station once you hit a certain threshold of listeners. You should check it out.

I have questions about radionomy.com. Can you run a live manual studio feed using radionomy? I think there would be an issue with music tagging.
I'd also like to know if you can prerecord entire shows and upload them to radionomy for audience consumption? Again, music tagging might be an issue. Any information would be appreciated.

KNAC.com is based here. Last I recall they were in Manhattan Beach. I don't know how to reach Rob Jones, who runs it.

You can run a live manual feed through the live function on the platform. You can upload full pre recorded shows to Radionomy but you would have to split the files up into 15 minute chunks and upload them piece by piece. You can edit mix pointers to blend these files so there is no lag in between files to make it sound exactly as you want it. The tagging depends on the metadata you have on the files before upload. During a live session the tagging is up to you and the live software you are using.
