La Bonita 96.9FM

So the replacement of El Norte on 96.9 is the same format that LBI used to replace CASA 106.7 in DFW. The name is LA BONITA, THE BEAUTIFUL ONE, beautiful as in a female. Playing oldies, the slogan is VIEJITAS PERO BONITAS. Oldies but beauties.

Which in my opinion doesnt make any sence, saying that XO had a few loyal listeners, they should have just flipped signals. Well I really dont care cause I hated that format.

Oh and they are only mentioning LA BONITA 96.9 FM and not mentioning 1230am at all, all they say is 98.9 Houston-Galveston.

Thanks for the information, mrtexmex. Your post is in the right place. Did you catch what time "La Bonita" began? At a check this morning, KQUE was looping the same message over and over moving Norte listeners over to 107.9.

I believe it was 12 noon I was doing deliveries all day at work. When I heard it at 11 am they were still having that annoucement, STARTING TODAY EL NORTE WILL BE ON 107.9 AND ALL THAT BLA BLA BLA, Then we I got side the vehicle at around 12:17 noon they where playing Selena Song, NO ME QUEDAS MAS. Then they had some commercials then I heard the annoucement of LA BONITA

Both KNTE and KXGJ has their IBOC on which I don't know why. Guess so that the cows can hear the IBOC buzz ;)

So is La Bonita Liberman's answer to Recuerdo? Or are there some demographic differences?

La Bonita is a shorter playlist, mostly automated version of the format Recuerdo in LA developed in 9 years and 11 months ago.

It seems to lean older, but it is really on only in Dallas and so is tough to judge.

I heard for the first time today rumblings that the La Bonita format would be originated from the Burbank studios of LBI, and would possibly also go on KHJ in LA. No confirmation on that.
