La Ley Expands

Spanish CHR-formatted "La Ley" WYMY 101.1/Burlington--with wide coverage of both the Greensboro-Winston Salem-High Point and Raleigh-Durham markets--is now heard in parts of eastern North Carolina via Goldsboro's WFMC 730 (105.7 W289CG) and Kinston's WWMC 1010 (92.9 W225CD). Both WFMC and WWMC were long-time black gospel formats prior to the switch.

La Ley NC Coverage

Unfortunately, the FM translators (.250kW) barely cover the rural areas of Lenoir and Wayne counties, which is where a large portion of the Hispanic residents of these areas live. The AM signals, however, cover the rural areas very well and actually overlap each other's signal. I just wonder how many residents in rural Wayne and Lenoir County have the ability to listen to the AM signals?

I applaud Curtis Media for reaching out and embracing a mainly un-tapped market in these two counties. I wish them the best of success in their endeavors with "La Ley".
