LA MARKET REVENUES

1). For as long as I can recall, the LA market has exceeded NYC in terms of overall radio revenue. Is this still the case? When did this first happen? What are the reasons for LA > NYC?

2). Does this also apply to television, outdoor and other forms of mass media?

LA leads NY by nearly $300 million in billing. LA is around $1.o6 billion, while NYC is $790 million. The LA lead, I believe, goes back to the 70's... I don't have that data at home, though. The main reason often attributed to the difference is the lack f defined drive timez in NY where public transportation is so heavily used. NY has much less outdoor. I do not have data on TV, and that is an interesting question.

The odd thing is that average listening in NYC is about 2.4 million AQH persons6-mid, while in LA it is 1.7 million only.

If you're able to obtain data on the matters enumated above, permit me to add one more query. Based on projections, is the revenue gap between LA and NYC widening?

I do believe NYC television revenues are higher than LA.
