LA OTA TV Channels

According to tripinva's website we are tied with NYC at 27 channels. Realistically, most cannot receive KFLA-LP-DT, KHIZ Barstow, KVMD 29 Palms or KBEH Oxnard concurrently without an extremely elaborate and expensive aerial setup and fortuitous 'sweet spot' in the Southland. That 27 number also only accounts for the main channels and not the digital subs which would move that number significantly higher (~72 channels). While 72 seems pretty high there's a lot of overlap since some subs are simply the same channel at a lower resolution and in the case of KJLA/KXLA their subs are similar in their offering (KVMD and LATV) or the sub is nothing more than weather radar (KNBC 4.2 at night and KABC 7.3).
