La Preciosa Coming to Denver?

AllAccess is teasing that La Preciosa may be coming to Denver.

I could see where that might work, considering the market's other Spanish-language stations. They tried something targeting a younger demo; I wonder how they'll do with this. Or will they do Spanish Oldies?

Any thoughts or guesses?

If anybody is smart, they'd do rhythmic AC. I am loving that format so much and Whoopee in the morning is so much fun! Spanish oldies seems like double yuck to me, just my opinion.

PRECIOSA wouldn't be targeting you icycool since you are a non-Spanish speaker living in the Milwaukee area. So the fact that it would be double yuck to you isn't a factor in the least..

Rico, my guess is that if somebody goes PRECIOSA in Denver it will be MEGA. I made that prediction over a year ago on this board. I'm surprised it took them this long. Although I can uderstand their patience considering MEGA in Houston didn't start booming until recently. But Denver is showing a different pattern.

I've got to agree with icycool and IMO I think CC should flip MEGA to a Rhythmic AC but this is CC we are talking about here and anything can happen. I think if CC does go with La Preciosa that they may be wanting to go after Entravision and the high rated KXPK. Now IMO I don't think that would be the way to go. We are already too satrated with the spanish format (mostly with Regional Mexican) with KXPK, KGDQ & KBNO which what La Preciosa actually is Regional Mexican. I think CC should go with Urban/Rhythmic or Rhythmic AC which is where they are leading us to believe will happen with Whoopi being marketed for mornings on the so called fool us website they setup. All Access is hinting @ La Precious. All Access may just be saying that to say that. Although, All Access is hardly ever wrong. I've been listening to MEGA through all the spanish blend in and over the last couple of days it's been less and less spanish and more and more rhythmic english titles so we still have to wait and see. Only question that still remains is when is all this going to take place???

Encarta, there's a lot going on with the rumor of when 95.7 will flip and what it will flip to here in Denver. For one, a majority of us on other radio boards don't believe that CC will be actually changing KMGG to another spanish format especially La Preciosa. We believe that the website @ http://www.957needsyourhelp.com/main.html is a smokescreen for what the format may actually be. CC has registered a lot of other websites that actually lead to KMGG's current website and all those website lead for us to believe that CC will be changing 95.7 to the ever-growing Rhythmic AC format (of Movin' or CC's current Rhythmic AC launch of 93.1 The Party in Las Vegas & Philly's 106.1). CC's new Rhythmic AC launches also go with CC wanting to move Whoopi's new morning show and CC wanting to spread and launch Whoopi's morning show in as many markets as possible.

CC has recently launched to internet domains of:

http://www.957theparty.com

http://www.theparty957.com

Both of the above links lead to the current KKMG (Mega 95.7) website.

Only CC knows when they actually plan on making the switch. Everyone is just on a waiting game with them on when it will actually happen.

Yep!

Some additional info - when the 957needsyourhelp.com website was discovered a couple of weeks ago it had a picture of Whoopi, and the slogan "95.7 Needs Your Help." After the denverradio message board started talking about the discovery of the 957needsyourhelp.com website, that website fairly quickly switched to the whole La Preciosa thing, and the two pictures of Whoopi suddenly went away. One of them even came right out and said, "Whoopi On-Air 6-10AM."

So, after all that, a few days later CC goes and registers those two domain names Dawn pointed out.

Well, just clicked on their live stream, and the logo it has is not Mega95.7 but 957 THE PARTY. mmmhhh???
