La Quinta Inns and Suites "cable" service - Portland

Tampa, FL was some nice warm and humid fun! Now I'm on the road again. This time, I'm at the La Quinta Inns and Suites in Portland. Like the "cable" I had last February in Chicago, the remote looks awfully familiar. Can you say Lodgenet? And...like Tampa, four ESPN services. Enough! Isn't there a hotel anywhere that has that city's expanded basic lineup anymore? Ugh! Anyways, here what I get here:

Enough! Isn't there a hotel anywhere that has that city's expanded basic lineup anymore?

Last time I was there in August 2001 The Super 8 on Putney Road (Rt. 5) in Brattleboro, VT had the just about the entire line-up from the city's Adelphia Cable System. If The Super 8 didn't change providers in the past 8 years they should now have Brattleboro's Comcast Lineup.


And I'd like to see what line-up they have at the La Quinta in downtown New Britain, CT.

What's really weird is the Red Roof in Salem, NH does NOT carry WMUR, which is the only station with real NH news. They do carry all the Boston network affiliates. You'de think someone staying in a hotel in NH would want to have access to NH news and especially NH weather.

Note that this info is based on a stay there over two years ago when I was having some plumbing work done on my house, it may have changed since then, but knowing the inertia with which some of these places operate I would bet it has not changed.

That IS weird. Perhaps they needed the space for all of the ESPNs and figured that a full set of Boston affiliates would be less confusing to guests. Of course, that ignores the possibility that a number of guests may have arrived in the area via Manchester Airport...

Do you know if this hotel had cable or satellite? I know both DirecTV and Dish have WMUR. Do you remember if they had PBS, especially WENH? If so, what did they have for PBS?
