quick inquiry: Could LA pull off a station . . . something crazy like
(NAME: tba) but for this example....

"Blast FM" and have what format (say top40) be very intense
about the music, and be incredibly wild...and not just.. ...
like every one else. top40 Mix-shows - all hours, DEEP (i mean DEEEEP) playlist, (etc)

Or iF a urban station, slam out TRUE hipHop, loads of RAP ( or soul_r & B) that
"just doesnt let up"

same with rock, be groundbreaking instead of the same ol, same ol...
 
If it could happen anywhere it could be LA although in recent years the city has had tight formats. But in the past it has hosted groundbreaking formats such as KROQ when it debuted, 103.1 as dance stations Mars-FM, Groove, KDL, 103.1 as underground commercial alternative Indie 103.1, etc.
