LA RAZA 106.3

Hey Guys and Gals:

La Raza is definately owned by SBS because it is on the corporate site. Can anybody tell me the history of 106.3. Wasn't it Spanish top 40 at one time?

No, it is owned by Raul Alarcon, Sr. and LMA'ed to SBS. Raúl bought it from SBS in 1999, and it was a topical CHR for some time. The Keys is not a good market, and it seems (with its simulcast partner up till the change, WMFM) to have never billed more than about $1 million a year.

With the move to Leisure City, it does now cover some of South Dade, and there are about 80,000 Mexicans there so it now has a potential audience as big as the entire Keys market all to itself.
