I always wondered how they expected to generate ad revenue anyway by having him on the station given its weak signal. 949 would be the better station for Labarbara.
Wouldn't WDJO be the logical choice for his background? It may be that JL and the guys at DJO don't get along. I read someone once where he was very critical of the Kaufmanns. Any truth to that?
Needless to say, Prof is a stand up guy not to mention an inimitable talent. Those hayseeds at NKR clearly had no idea that they had lightning in a bottle. Good call, Monger....Jimmy should hook up with Marty! I had great fun working with JL. I only wish I had but a small percentage of his talent.
The Music Professor shouldn't be put out to pasture....lots of talent left in him.
Since I haven't heard Cool Bobby B on WDJO for quite a while, WDJO should forgive him (if need be) and let him back on the air in Cincy and share his musical knowledge with us once again.
"Cleveland really loves you Jim,I tell you what you're a part of their history and you did a real good job on the radio here tellin' everybody how you felt then and how they felt then ....in case they forgotten...you are the keeper of the memories. I'll say to you on the radio as I said to you in person...they should fire Shadoe Stevens and make you the new host of American Top 40 because you are and beyond the shadow of the doubt a much better emcee."
(Quote from the late Jackson Armstrong at WMJI's 1988 "WIXY 1260" reunion)
