...any rumors or even a hint of an upcoming format change for then??

Who would be in line to change right now?

i don't know about that, but what's the scuttlebutt about Mix 96 getting a new morning DJ? and from NYC no less??

My guess on who might at least do something soon:

1. Cumulus
2. Cox
3. CBS (if Mega keeps dropping)
4. Univision

The first two make sense, as the ratty signals seem to spin the format wheel often.

CBS has just invested in a Mega in Dallas... that's unlikely.

Univision just made a major readjustment, and the numbers look excellent.

Cumulus might try to sneek in La Gran D, the same format they have in Beaumont. Cox?? I dont know about them, but like Mr Eduardo said MEGA And Univision would be my last guess of them doing anything unless like I said before they do something with 105.3 fm.

I heard KTRH will change formats 4/1/2010 they will drop the talk format and become a news station.

Iheard that same rumour, but instead of current news, they were going to run news features from the 50's 60's & 70's.... I guess you could call it an "Oldies News Station". ;-)

Impossible to not notice that date :)
This would be a great move if it's ever actually done. It's ridiculous that a market our size has no all-news station.

Sounds like a good move. If 650AM had done it instead, Houston would have one of those CBS local news stations that Chicago and NY would have.

At least during the day, mr. ric. That's the problem with 650 and what keeps it handicapped. It is a daytimer only, and with no chance to get nighttime authorization due to WSM/Nashville. Considering we have 4 sports stations in this market, I think 610 would be a great option for a 24 hour news outlet, considering the signal of KILT both day and night. Costs some money to support a full time news staff though, which is why KTRH is as news-free as it has become.
