No, not because he likes syndicated over local. But syndicated is out there in pretty much all parts of the day. I hear Boortz in the morning, Rush in middays, Hannity after that, Savage after that so the screams of not enough syndication don't jive with what's out there.
We all have our personal favorites, local or syndicated. The only thing I can stomach is Spud & Garland and occasionally Andre'. I haven't listened to 'RNO at other times of the day to make an opinion. But with my Christmas money, I'm headed to Radio Shack for the Sirius deal, more variety. I'm tired of being force-feed the same 300 songs and the local "peeps" who shouldn't be hosting a talk show. Case in point, Hokie Gajan, love listening to him and Henderson on Sundays. But him with Bob Mitchell, I'd rather hear songs I've heard for the second time in a day. Then, he attempts to do a home improvement show. Please! If they'd put him out to pasture, then you could say "Virginia, there is a Santa Claus". WWL on demand is not a bad idea but re-running some of the bafoons? They've given up on the frequency but they think they smell money.

The complaints about "corporate puppets" is very old and very tired. It frankly comes across as I lost my gig and I'm mad about it. Get over it already.
"Corporate puppets" are just what they are or would you rather "brown-nosers". They ship 'em in, screw up the stations, then ship 'em off to do the same elsewhere. It's like Family Feud. One gives a brainless reply to a question and the rest scream "great answer". It's leaves you scratching your head. No onions, period. They have their VP's of programming and "con"-sulants come in once a year and tell them what's better for this city. Our research shows...you ever "see" the research? Bet not. These money-sucking leeches all have the mentality that Mardi Gras is nothing more than beads, boobs and booze on Bourbon Street and that Emril's is a great local restaurant. And as far as "I lost my gig and I'm mad about it", I got out when the Jesuits were still in the business and our wonderful Congressman, Billy Tauzin got the industy deregulated. I'm quite happy working in marine electronics. I just feel sorry for those non-management folks in radio.
Terrestrial radio is in a sorry state and if the big corporations think HD radio is the savior, think again. You can have the best engineers and gear in the world but if the content sucks, what's the point. It's about content and convenience.
BTW...younglarry....what about dem Saints! Dey show lookin' good!
