I think it is sexy as ALL get out when a woman shoots a gun!! LaDona is the ultimate conservative, and one of the all time great women. And KOGO never has been nor never will be trailer trash. It's history alone is greater than all others in the San Diego market. KCBQ had a good run for about 20 or 30 years, KGB for about 10 years, but for going the distance its KOGO. Plus KOGO has the best American AM signal in San Diego
 
Several years ago I was doing some field stength measurements in L.A., and KOGO at 5kW was equal to XETRA-AM at 50kW. The Xtra pattern used to swing a little more east.

KOGO had a long bad run under the Shattucks - the folks who owned the old KPRI 106.5 - and later under Edens and then PAR broadcasting. KOGO under PAR was way below par: if not trailer trash, it certainly was garbage.

What made KOGO good again was KSDO: Jacor basically moved the KSDO format to KOGO.
 
Who cares it was 15 years out of its 85 year history!! The last 15-20 years KCBQ has been trailer trash, but it still does not make it any less of a legend because of its current owners in-ability to program! The same with KSON-AM, KSDO, KDEO/KECR, KHJ, KMPC, KLAC, KIIS/KRKD. Calling KOGO trailer trash is like calling Hillcrest the ghetto. Yes at one time it had its problems but now due to the current residence its beautiful! And by calling it trash you are downgrading the staff there, and I know for a fact that each and everyone of them loves what they do and are passionate about not only radio, but also KOGO, those same people manned that station 24/7 during the fires, and do the one thing that the rest of the automated stations in that market dont! They provide a public service. As the EAS LP-1 they are not required to have a live board op or to have a news staff, but they do! They could put the EAS box on automatic, let it step on the programming (like others do!) and let the weather service provide news! KOGO is the closest thing to a real radio station that exists in San Diego anymore!

Every radio station has a crappy period in its history, but they can still be legends!
