Lady Antebellum rips off another song?

There is a similarity, but I don't agree that it's a rip-off.

I agree. They have probably never heard the song before...well until now.

I met Lady A when they first came out a few years ago and told them a great cover song for them to record would be Rossington Collins Band-Don't Misunderstand Me. They never heard of it, my impression is they are too young to know of much early 80s music.

There is a large but limited universe of possible melodies. We could be nearing the point where every new song created will sound at least somewhat similar to something done before.

Jay,

I agree. For example, listen to how closely Kid Rock's "All Summer Long" sounds like Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London."

Yeah but I'm pretty sure that was done on purpose...to give a nostalgia feeling to go along with the song (even if werewolves came out in 1977 and the song takes place in 1989).

I love them to cover a Fleetwood Mac song like the Dixie chicks did and bring it home to #1.They are my favorate current country group, which I dont have many to count.
