New song,,, Hearing it for the first time now,,, out of all places im listening to an Almost exclusively Rock leaning CHR Channel X 94 in the tiny town of Vernal Utah.... Its not Dance at all, but it doesnt have the street feel that Poker Face and Just Dance had.... Id have to say I like it, but I dont know how well it will do,, its pretty much a pure Pop Record,,, which for CHR I been hoping for more of this stuff.. It probably wont do well just because I like it,,, If I like a song it usually stiffs out.

Kind of seems to be one of those songs that might keep people listening for a short time before it fizzles.

I put this in my freeflow rhythm show back in January as a new hit, or "future flava". Since it fits the first genre in my description of "electro-pop, breakbeat, rhythmic r&b/dance, freestyle", I decided to feature it. Also, because it's going to be the next single, which has already started playing outside the US. Since I did not like the dance versions, I just used the original. If Poker Face managed to do this well, then I have no worries about this song.

If this song makes it big, then someone should also consider bringing back a modernized Ace of Base style. I think it's safe to assume that we've advanced back to a time where this would be acceptable today. Lastly, I should mention that I also hope Kristinia, Dj Noble, and Diamonique's latest hits make it as well. I heard a couple good songs on Poco's Pero Locos on Sunday night, but Diamonique, she took the night.

Ace of Base had a unique Euro Pop sound to them.. They were Dancy,, but more Electro Euro POP...Beautiful Life was really their only Dance song, and the more Upbeat version of Dont turn Around that most stations played, not the version on the album... Their remake of Cruel Summer was cool, but I liked the original 80s dance version from Bananarama better...

"Nothing else I can say" is a good modernized style example of what Ace of Base could do today, but with their own style of singing of course.

Kristinia, Dj Noble, and Diamonique are not related to that "Nothing more I can say" sound, so I don't know why I brought them up in the same sentence... but I bet Kristinia beats them all. Diamonique probably wont even make it mainstream... but who knows? This could be her official big break. She's already well established enough, but... not sure if "the countdown" will make it. "the countdown" is kind of a slightly awkward name, but in her case it's better than "the launch". With all the words she has in her song, she could've named it something completely different...

I'm sure Lady GaGa and Kristinia DeBarge will be the only two out of all on the charts next month or so.

That Diamonique song I was talking about isn't all that great to begin with, now that i actually had a chance to hear it for myself without just catching piece of it on the radio. Out of all songs I mentioned, I'd say Dj Noble and Lady Gaga are the best. Kristinia is ok, but probably will catch on faster than Dj Noble if all goes right with her label since she's related to someone in the industry and her sound fits today's style. She already received recognition on The Weekend Throwdown.
