Lafayette News...Wolf moves BACK to 95.3

According to an on-air statement on Wolf Country 95.7, they will be moving back to their old 95.3 dial position effective this Saturday after spending roughly 2 years at 95.7.

Any thoughts?

What's the point of all the musical chairs between the two frequencies. One's stronger north and west and the other south, but this isn't making sense.
______________

Like any of the programming moves by the big heads at AMP are. This move makes no sense. Talk about confusing the listeners. Maybe their hope of having the Rocket getting confused with KHY backfired and they want the separation again...who knows. All I know is every 6 months, you can find something crazy coming out of that building.

"AMP - We have radio ADD"

Would that signal change have anything to do with Purdue? Or are they going to keep it on the same frequency?

I agree AMP is a joke! I like how their station in South Bend took a dump. WAZY in Lafayette keeps slipping. They beat B-102.9 but they are still slipping. I am not impressed with any of the stations in AMP's Lafayette Cluster. As far as I am concerned they all suck.

I worked for AMP at the turn of the century. The Lafayette studios were functional but cramped (with the exception of WAZY). The equipment seemed to work most of the time.

But they treat their people like crap. Most of the folks I worked with were paid hourly and if they worked over 40 hours they were forced to "carry over" the hours so that AMP wouldnt have to pay overtime. I know at least one guy who ended up writing off the hours because he knew he'd never be able to collect on all of them.
______________

The Rocket is going back to 95.7..right?? Think Bob and Tom,Inc will like the flip flopping??

Re: AMP - Ugh!

Amazing!

What gets me is why are there so many of these type of owners out there. What is it that attracts them to become radio owners? We've all worked for people like this. Please sell your stations to some real and qualified broadcasters.

The Rocket is going back to 95.7 on Saturday. The liners talking about the flip on the Rocket are kind of funny...saying something along the lines of "Well apparently, the bosses thought it was essential for us to have a "7" in our frequency....so "The Rocket" returns to 95.7 this Saturday." Like The Rocket, The Wolf has the same amount of sarcasm in their liners talking about the move.

Whether Purdue sports will be moving to 95.7 is still a mystery. I always thought the move to 95.3 was done to please Purdue in the first place. 95.3 is slightly stronger on campus and Artistic wanted The Rocket to be the station to carry Purdue football & men's basketball.

Premiere and Bob & Tom probably don't care about the switch. I would say as long as Artistic is living up to Premiere's barter or cash agreement, they are probably cool with it.

Duh....huge profit margins!

That's against the law. Not paying people for the work that they do. I don't care where you work, if you work overtime you have to be compensated. I don't care if you flip burgers at McDonald's. I am sure some of those people could take them to court over that. What a lousy piece of garbage operation that is. I feel sorry for anyone who works for that company. I know if I did after hearing that I would be gone.

Yes. Youre right. Its 100% against the law. And perfectly within ones right to complain about it. And then get fired for a totally unrelated reason...
______________
