Congrats...Couldn't happen to a nicer OM and his people.

Unless you've turned evil, Mark...then forget the compliment and move along.

Thanks Tiny.

Is this Steve Michaels?

And BTW, I'm still the sweetheart of a guy that I've always been. ;)

And the demise of Artistic couldn't have happened to a "nicer" owner

I really don't think that Artistic has anything to worry about. From the looks of the 12+ numbers, WGLM may be the station in some serious trouble. They rebounded a little, but I'm sure it's not enough to get the big agency buys.

Mark, congrats on the book. You guys deserve it. :)

The one and the same.

Let's do lunch sometime...McDonalds in Levee Plaza? Haven't been there in a long time.

GLM hasn't ever gotten the big agency buys....I am surprised they did as well as they did...They have wondered around those crap numbers forever...and will continue to do so

Right on....go K105...are you guys still running the Reel World jingles with the male lead? Man those were hot! They went on about 2 months after I left....

Granted, I haven't been an employee of GLM for several years, but in their defense, they did get some pretty good buys from the agencies back in the "glory days" when they were pulling in much more respectable numbers for their, at the time, women 25-54 AC demo in the mid 90s.

One thing is for sure though, I am behind you 100% in regards to them getting crap numbers over the last several books. I know GLM doesn't have the best signal in town, but that's no excuse for them to have a book like this. It's shameful.

GLM has moved in so many musical directions, albeit with AC style programming, over the last 5 years alone. It's time for them to just get out of the AC/hot AC business altogether, change calls, slogans, make some staff changes, etc. All of this is just for starters. Kelly needs to start completely from scratch and do something new that will catch the attention of the Lafayette area. Only then will she have the potential of making her station worthy of getting more advertising dollars and more listeners.

The only question is what format could she do on a stand-alone to make it more profitable.

Why not go spanish? You would have the whole market to yourself. Unlike white people most Mexicans work, use cash for transactions, and they procreate (meaning they don't use contraception, and don't abort their unborn kids). They're a young demo that consumes. Latinos are very family too. This is a demo that I would serve in Lafayette. WGLM would make a lot of money.
