"Lafayette Out"

Ouch, WAZY lost their heritage countdown show. The station has had AT40 for years (dating back to the 80's).

Looks like WXXB Delphi-Lafayette picks up the Hair Gel franchise known as "Ryan Seacrest" by adding his new show to the 10-1 daypart.

Also WAZY lost their former night jock Romeo. Last I remember in Fall of 06 and Spring of 07, Romeo was #1 or #2 at night.

Looks like WXXB also picks up Romeo as their new nightslammer to follow up Logan in afternoon drive

Probably not a bad move on B's part to pick up On Air and AT40. I just hope B reconsiders having Romeo on during the evening daypart. I've personally always leaned toward the live and local CHR evening shows over the syndicated stuff, especially when your competition is voicetracking. If not, Romeo is definitely the next best thing given how interactive his show is.

With Romeo coming back to Lafayette on B, does this also mean Open House Party moves there as well? WAZY just got them back on the air after a several month hiatus.

It sounds like B is really solidifying its domination of the CHR audience in Lafayette. The best of luck to Tony and the crew on their latest acquisitions.

Access One is pretty hard set on making you own both franchises, but in this case, it may have been so they can get Romeo back on the air.

I am looking over some of his ratings Monday-Friday 7P-Mid:

Fall 2006 - Women 12-17
1) WXXB
2) WAZY

Fall 2006 - Women 18-34
1) WAZY
2) WXXB

Fall 2006 - Women 18-49
1) WAZY
2) WXXB

Spring 2007 - Women 12-17
1) WXXB
2) WAZY

Spring 2007 - Women 18-34
2) WXXB
3) WAZY

Spring 2007 - Women 18-49
1) WAZY
2) WXXB

Open House Party consistantly dominated the market on weekends from 2004-2006
