Lafayette Radio

OMG...used to work at a Lafayette store in Boston's Back Bay while going to school there in 1966. WOW.

I spent a lot of time and money at the Macon, Georgia Lafayette store on Pio Nono Avenue, back in the late 60's and early 70's. John and Evelyn Clark owned it. Nice folks...I miss them.

I built one of the Explore-air receivers when I was a teenager, it was my first short-wave radio. I then took a course at their Syosset store in 1965 to get my first ham radio license as WN2TWU. I was thrilled when they opened their store in Lynbrook because I could get there by bicycle from my home in East Rockaway.
