Someone wrote an Aritcle before the Fall book in 06 and I loved the title.
"IF ARTISTIC DISAPPEARS LAFAYETTE - WILL ANYONE NOTICE ITS MISSING?"
Wow, now that is some funny ish! Artistic wasnt bad this book, they were downright miserable. To the point of non-existance miserable. WAZY had its worst book in nearly 8 years, WLFF was terrible and the only station up was WSHP and it was only by 1 share.
WKHY kicks ass again, WKOA does too. WXXB stomped all over WAZY, WASK slipped but not by much.
The stations had a visitor wanting to purchase them last December and Art came in and held back the deal because he wanted a minimum of 12 times cash flow. Sad part is that the stations have now cash flow, and no income. How can they sell it at 12 times?

Agreed, its really sad to see what Artistic has done with the first Top 40 station to ever sign on the FM band. They have made a complete mess of it.
If the station would have remained Adult CHR/HAC Hybrid, the thing could have ripped up Lafayette and challanged WXXB. Instead they have tweaked the thing so much in 2007 that no one knows what it is anymore.
If anything I feel really bad for Jimmy who has atleast tried. But with Indy down his throat im sure its not easy. They would be smart to flip WSHP into Adult Contemporary as Lite 95. Then stunt for three days after some market research on 96.5 and turn it into Y96 - Lafayette's Hit Music! Start over with a new staff, a major marketing budget and bring back the Adult CHR/HAC hybrid from 2006.

All through Saturday nights dance party show, WAZY's Sunday jock Big John could be heard Live on-the-air voice tracking his Sunday shift. It was super embarrassing. He'd mess-up and redo the same break a million times until he was satisfied with it. It was horrible.
I can't wait until AMP sells. I just hope somebody with a strong passion for radio purchases.
