These stations were received with a stock car radio (1996 Buick Park Avenue) and a Tecsun PL-390 at three different spots (Port Sheldon Park, Rosy Mound Park, and Grand Haven beach). The Tecsun was used at Rosy Mound as I walked from the parking lot all the way to the beach (about 1.5 miles round trip in 80+ degree weather). When I was sitting on benches at Rosy Mound doing a bandscan, a guy asked what I was doing. I told him that I was trying to get stations from other states. Then on the way back, he asked me where my radio was and I told him that it was small enough to fit into my pocket. He seemed to know a little bit, since he asked if it was a shortwave radio. I told him that it has AM and FM in addition to SW.

Not surprised you got a lot of Chicago stations. Great area for that.
