"Lake" question

As the "Lake" is going away, and won't be returning to the FM dial, I must reminis about this great station. It played music not heard much on the radio, and the sound effects used in the imaging really made it sound like you were at the lake. Because I enjoyed the lake so much, and since many radio pros visit this board, I must ask this question.

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the lapping water, chirping crikets, and other "Lake" effects that made this station so wonderful? I know the lake sounds is a source of sarcasm on these boards, so I must stress this is a serious inquiry, and is not a sarcastic question.

If anyone knows where I can find the effects the lake used, please contact me.

Since you live out of town, Radio Kid, keep in mind that the Lake will live on as a web stream. So, you will still be able to hear the lake lapping and crickets chirping for the foreseeable future. But if you're still looking for your own copy of the Lake sounds, someone else will have to help you.

I"m guessing those are copywrited....not likely to get (or find them legally)

That's all

HDBG, Please explain. I don't think Entercom actually went out into nature, and recorded a lake so they could copyright those effects for 107.7. Those sounds had to be bought, even by Entercom, so even if they're copyright, Entercom bought them, and bought them legally.

I'm willing to pay to get them, so if anyone knows where the effects for the lake can be obtained, please, again, feel free to contact me.

I must defer you to legal counsel!! :D

I'm saying this:
IF these are used, as produced by a SFX provider, there are more than likely "rights" assigned to the SFX.
These "rights" are compensated for by (as you say) Entercom. (In the form of a healthy license fee...for you balance sheet posters out there...an expense/or COGS)
If you have a "copy" for your own consumption (no profitable usage), then crank them up in your living room!!
The actual first generation tracks (oh, wait, it could be digital...nevermind)... are probably in a vault, for safe keeping.

All I'm saying is...you can probably come up with a bootleg copy...just gotta look (I don't have one, sorry)

I'd love to have a copy for my own personal consumption, so that I may play the sounds of the lake in a repeating loop. (And yes, I'm serious about that!) Free bootleg copy'd be nice, but in the interest of legality, I'll pay for them. And, if they're not available on a simple nature sound effects CD, I'm willing to pay the "healthy" license fee.

Unfortunatly, just googling for the SFX used on WLKK doesn't get you anywhere, so I'll need to know what SFX package Entercom is using. (If anyone working at Entercom Buffalo is reading this, please chime in here, PM me, or email me.)

Thanks.

I wonder what former WNSA staffers (Bob Koshinski, Mike Schopp, Howard Simon, Ricky Jay, etc.) thought when they learned about the simulcast switch over for the 107.7 frequency.
