Agreed. Radio is its' own worst enemy. Clear Channel destroyed the minor leagues by buying up virtually every small market station and throwing on it's pre-packaged, branded b.s. with jocks piped in from all over the country.
Cookie cutter formats and lack of creativity have turned many stations into tune outs. In the meantime, radio, an advertising medium, refuses to advertise itself. Promotional budgets are next to nothing...and salaries are even less than that.
While I do believe the medium will always carry some weight...the corporate weenies in New York and San Antonio are doing whatever they can to destroy what once was a proud industry.
