Lame talk radio in Vegas

From the listings on their web site, it appears they only take the weekend Yankees games (doesn't ESPN Radio cover the team too much
on its Sunday Night Baseball broadcasts anyway? :D).

Aren't the Yankees on Fox's Saturday game about every other week?

There are six to eight teams "on Fox's Saturday game" each week. Given that there aren't really any more than twelve to fourteen teams with any reasonable postseason hopes -- and that the Yankees have been a given to be among that group all year long -- it's hardly surprising that the Yankees would be in that mix at least as often as they are.

Why they have to be on ESPN/ESPN Radio's Sunday night games every three weeks or so is, as mentioned above, another matter entirely...

Wait a minute, but I thought this was a Phoenix board and posting anything from outside of Phoenix was forbidden and heavily frowned upon!

To be honest, I actually made a Las Vegas-related topic thinking this was the Nevada board because of this thread. :-[

If I remember correctly KDWN dropped the Dodgers a few years before Beasley bought the station. For a brief time period KDWN stole Coast to Coast AM away from KXNT (KDWN was where the show started in the 1980s as "West Coast AM" with Art Bell). KDWN dropped the Dodgers so Coast to Coast would always start live at 10PM.

Several stations have carried them since but they all seem to change formats. This is one of the only seasons I remember when no LV station carries the Dodgers. KBET says on their web site that they are the Dodgers station but I never hear them carry the games. At one time you could hear Dodgers, Angels, and D-Backs PBP, now there is no baseball on the radio except for our AAA team.

I have always noticed the news-talk share is higher in Phoenix than Vegas, it was true in the diary and now in PPM. I'm not sure if it's the quality of the stations or if people in Phoenix are more interested in politics and current events than they are in LV, maybe it's a little of both. We now have 2 AM talkers (KXNT and KDOX) simulcastng on FM so maybe that will increase the talk share.

When did KDWN drop the Dodgers, anyway...when Beasley took over?

And why am I posting this on the Phoenix board? :D

Because I was in Vegas and the talk radio there really sucked.

Well then, what did you think of the FMs? Vegas radio isn't crap.

Didn't listen to FM, that is why I have an Ipod with my music on it.
