Lamest local commercials

In San Francisco, viewers of Comcast Cable are familiar with Jang and Associates (dentists):

Actually, by far the worst commercial is by Gina, formerly of 19th Avenue, for her new business, the Ocean Avenue Service Station, but to my disappointment, nobody has posted her commercials on You Tube. She is somewhat frightening.

The Worst commercials air on KRON 4 where an infomercial takes place in the middle of a "newscast" and the KRON 4 Personalities are endorsing an infomercial sponsers.

Here in the Phoenix metro area we could fill your cup with lame commercials but the ones that take the cake seem to be the onslaught of ads for Phillips & Associates, personal injury lawyers (also taking care of nasty drug companies out to harm you, bankruptcy and probably every other legal malfunction as well). They air 100's of times per day on virtually every channel and most feature a "client" speaking praises for the law office efforts.

Only problem is.....most of these "clients" look like they just got out of Sheriff Joe's place after several months of balogna and peanut butter sandwiches and some in-house tattoo artistry.

P&A probably plea-bargained their extreme-DUI stays at the Arpaio Hilton down from 6 months to three. ;D

Speaking of Phoenix lawyers, Goldberg & Osborne and Lerner & Rowe are just as bad as Phillips & Associates, if not worse.

Then, there are the non-lawyers:

Express Flooring with that loud, obnoxious woman screaming at the viewers.

Sanderson Ford, who insults our men & women in uniform by exploiting them to sell cars. Now that Tex Earnhardt no longer advertises on TV (I'm not sure if Ol' Tex still living - ESPN's Colin Cowherd does their radio ads on KTAR now), this is the worst car dealer in the Valley.

Wonderful Russ Shaw of John Hall and Associates, a local realtor. "I'll sell your house in only 12 23 44 53 days! I'm not bragging - I'm applying for a job. If you're not happy, fire me. Thank You."

Although many here would disagree, I like the commercials with CAR-o-LIN-a KIa!

We have one of those in Phoenix as well: "SEE ya...in a Michael Crawford KEE-ya!" ::)

Meanwhile, over on E. Camelback Rd. (at a former location of KOY radio's transmitter), Coulter Cadillac tells us to "look for the car....on the ROOF!!!" It's bellowed at us by Arizona Diamondbacks' play-caller Daron Sutton, and previously by Thom Brennaman when he held that job. Annoying enough when Brennaman did it, it's even worse with Sutton.

George Brazil also has a mean beginning to their commercial: think choirs singing "plumbing, air conditioning, heating, electrical" in ascending notes.

G&O are pretty bad as they come IMO: quite seriously, the soundtrack to one of their commercials (with really lame stills) is a version of I Danced in the Morning (which I hear at church on rare occasion!). Lerner and Rowe are pretty weird guys too: in Nevada it's just Lerner, and I think he was slapped on the wrist by the state bar there for not letting Rowe take all the AZ cases. He also had a complaint filed against him for missing the first day of a client's murder trial!, and one of his associates went into a drunken rage and assaulted another man back in June at a golf event. In 2008, he was disciplined for letting Rowe (licensed for AZ) handle cases in Nevada.

In Chicago, there's also "There's only one...Bob ROHRRRRR-man!" (which is equally bad).

OK, they no longer air, but can one really talk about bad commercials in Phoenix without bringing up "Howiiiiiiiiiieeeeee World"? Come to think of it, he kinda reminds me of the Geico "Little Piggy" commercial.

That woman, IIRC, used to be the lead singer for a back east group called White Plains (or perhaps Brooklyn Bridge). I remember seeing her in late 1970 and she hasn't changed all that much. Too bad she wasted that voice selling carpet.
