Landecker on 94.7

Anyone listening to John Landecker on ABC's 94.7?

I did yesterday online. Great show! Now if they would just add Fred Winston, Tommy Edwards, Larry Lujack, and others, they would have THEE station to listen to.

Landecker never did it for me, but I am happy the guy is employed, however, I'd follow Edwards and Lujack anywhere, including True Oldies, which I believe is musically inferior to RealOldies--but ABC does seem to be taking this seriously, so kudos to them.

What about Dick Biondi or Ron Smith? I would Like to hear them during the evening hours, just like they did when they were on WJMK and WRLL.

Either would be fine, but I honestly think Smith, with his encyclopedic knowledge of music, is a better listen. If I ever win the lottery, I will buy my own radio station and do whatever I damn well please and Smith would be on it.

These guys need to just retire and go away. Gear up for new and fresh blood. Although radio in general sucks as we know it. These guys need to stock up on depends and move to Florida.

whats wrong? scared of the old competition? not getting to move up like you want? are they getting YOUR money? causing YOU to look elsewhere?

I give Lame-Decker 2 months. He will be begging for change on the overpass.

These guys are no longer writing their checks. They are taking anything they can get.

Well, young whipper snapper, everyone gets old but the lucky are allowed to continue to do what they love and do well. I doubt that you are in radio because of any passion for music or communication---but I do wish you well in whatever the future can hold for a charmer such as yourself.

Listen...Good radio has no time limits... A mixture of younger talent working under mentors as these always continued the chain of good radio...But, as we see, the chain stopped for other reasons beyond the good talent, young and old... Lujack was young once, under the Webbers and Rileys...Landecker was young and working with the older guys and gals...Life in radio was and could be a natural progression, if done right... It sure wouldn't hurt to give the 'LS calls another run on 94.7 as True Oldies WLS-FM....Not a great streach of thought there... We should remember that the bulk of fans who grew up with the above are now over 45....Niche to the ad agencies and real estate...OOOPS! I mean radio station owners....Ha-ha!

"Skipper T." ...So what if I was one genertion behind great radio????

I'm with the other one. Yes, radio and everything else is a progression. But, I think the attitude that "I am making killer cash" and the comments about seasoned professionals is somewhat disrespectful to the medium and to the professionals who still have some good years in the. Although I am new to this board, I have seen it stated more than one that once a person is older than 45, he or she ceases to exist. I get it, and so do the others who have moved away from terrestrial radio. It's like a broken marriage when one person stays in love and the other person cannot care less.

Uhh not at all my man. I make killer cash. I just do not like to go in the studio after they have been there and smell ass all day.

They have bad order and they suck.

Hey, after several successful decades in the business and when YOU get inducted into the Hall of Fame, drop us a line, OK, dude?

do you think he meant "odor" or by "order," he meant to say he didn't like the order of the play list? Just wondering.

Oh man, another day of younger jocks hoping for their moment in history.

All I will add is this -- if during you time on the air, you can accomplish the job of having listeners AND radio jocks holding your and your shows in high acclaim for over 25 or 30 years, then you will have the authority to bad-mouth anyone you want.

But till then.....
Keep working on your show.

OHHHHHHHH KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

This from the guy who does TRAFFIC REPORTS and works in bars.

I bet it's great going home at night and parking that 4 year old has-been luxury car in front of mom and dad's house, where you can see it from the windows of your basement "apartment".

Standing ovation... thank you, rkchgo, for saying what so many of us think.
