Insiders at ABC-owned WZZN-FM (94.7) say John "Records" Landecker is expected to sign on this week as afternoon personality at the "True Oldies" station

The station has Scott McKay in morning drive and Scott Shannon's syndicated Oldies channel in other dayparts. Landecker was part of the DJ "team" at ABC's legendary Chicago AM Top 40 station, 89 WLS.

YAWN--thank god for my portable CD player, that's all I can say.

A portable CD player? How quaint!
Maybe the ad agencies are right about Oldies listeners.

Records truly is his real name

Now, this would be cool. Perhaps we were wrong that Citadel wouldn't make a commitment to the format. I'm really kind of shocked.

It would be a welcomed break from "All Shannon, All The Time"

I have an old car without a CD player (too cheap at the time), so I get my oldies elsewhere and I would have switched to True Oldies had they gone with Edwards or Lujack but they opted for Landecker, who is probably less expensive. But yes, it is encouraging...

More writing on the wall.
Used cars are showing up at dealers and car lots with factory-installed satellite radios.
And now XM and Sirius are starting to offer free trials to used car buyers (as they have to original owners).

Meantime, I love XM's 50s on Five.
