Langan and West

Most know this but some don't. Ever wonder what happened to John Langan?

http://www.radiomen.com/radiomen.html

If I had a bunch of millions and an FM station, I would get these people together: Langan and West, Gary Crowe and Steve Slaton, Robin and Maynard, Beau Roberts,.. KXRX all over again.

There all in the area.

Not to get nitpicky or anything, but neither John Langan or Steve Slaton were ever on KXRX. KISW in the late seventies-early eighties was truly the zenith of rock radio in Seattle.

Slaton did make a brief appearance on KXRX (via phone) in 1994 during Robin & Maynard's final show on The X.

John Langan did have a brief stint on KYYX in 1983.....

F*^# I miss that stuff.....

You can go to You Tube and search Langan and West -- some of the Leave it to Beaver bits are posted there.

I found one. CLASSIC!! I am working on a streaming station that plays nothing but Classic Airchecks.. Wish I had a few from Seattle to add in to rotation..

When you get it running, link us, please!

In the early 90's Langan actually had a programming gig at an Oldies station in Anchorage for about a month. Apparently he no more than got moved in and the station went dark. Don't know where the boy is now.

Moose-

Look at the initiating link above. "Langan" is in Spookaloo, WA.

The funnest radio I ever heard in my life was when those dudes went on a mission to find a new singer for AC DC shortly after Bon Scott died. They had callers call in and actually sing over the top of highway to hell...it was so funny. I remeber guys, saying, "hey, stop, can I start over?" What was really cool was that my high school pottery teacher at Federal Way High loved it too and let us listen in class. That was the golden age of radio........

My favorite: The Open Sores Telethon. It was a Labor Day telethon to "stamp out open sores in our lifetime". Throughout the morning they would go live to the Open Sores Ward at a local hospital to illustrate the suffering. All you heard was a bunch of people going "ow....ow......ow.......ow". Of course they would announce their donation tally every hour, and every hour the total would get lower. Hilarious.
