I posted it in the Texas TV section, too. But, since he has a big radio track record here, Lanny Griffith is no longer at KRIV FOX 26 as of today. His contract was not renewed.

Wow. that morning news cant get more boring than it is already???

And the other post says that their expanding to 10am this fall. ARE YOU SERIOUS???? ::)

Im sorry but fox 26 isn't what it used to be, not just its morning news, but all its newscast in general. Whenever i recently watched, i feel like im watchin a localized version of 20/20. that's why i just do 13 most of the day and at 9, i just go to 39. Unlike fox, at least you can't tell that they are trying.

the lanster milked turning non-stories into somewhat humorous non-stories for almost 15 years. not bad.

what will he do next? jenny craig spokesman?

toooooooooooonz

If all else fails, the Baskin-Robbins in Baytown is still open. (That was a bit more than 15 years ago I bet.)

What a waste, but it is par for the course for the once mighty KRIV. Lanny was the only morning talent they had remaining after all these years. They never put him in the traffic role where he should have been all along. Instead they have personalities that have you changing the channel as soon as they appear. KRIV remains the market's leader in station mediocrity (both radio & TV). That station has been in a death spiral ever since Jerry Marcus retired about 10 years ago. It just goes to prove that great leadership really can make a difference in the success or failure of any property.
