LaPowerFM 105.3

Since they play “everything” and “what they want” it must be a Jack FM station. 😜
I could easily do a comeback to "Jack" but I am trying to refrain from that sort of thing...

I gather Spanglish to be what friends in places like Eagle Pass and Del Rio, Texas called what they did in normal conversation: a general rule was whatever is easier to say or more descriptive is said in the language that word represents. For example, saying the call letters in English, K-Q-Q-K is easiest in Spanish because it rolls off the tongue easier.

Interesting tidbit: late 1970s thru mid 1980s: listeners to English CHR did not want to hear commercials, liners or DJs in the Spanish language. A Spanish language word here or there was okay.

They are broadcasting from wells fargo plaza. The most power you can run at that roof top is 99-500watts without causing huge interference with other tenants. Kama 104.9 had many problems years back from the that same building and some tv stations had to move from that location. Bill Cordell runs a tight ship at that sight.

Who are the other tenants that would be interfered with today?

Any tenant with electronic equipment. That could include some computer equipment, medical electronics and the like. And, of course, any utility radio services.

You'd make a great consultant for them LOL given what you've posted here.
I have a non-compete with a WFR, and (throwing modesty to the wind) they could not afford it.

As for the translator on 105.3 getting shut down by the FCC, who here has gone out to the site, taken measurements with a meter and sent those measurements to the FCC? Anyone here who's upset can do just that and get the FCCC to act quicker.

The more relevant violation is that of operating a translator without an HD or AM channel.

What are KTBZ's subcarriers, anyone in the area with an HD radio who can check?

As of this afternoon... HD2 simulcasts KBME, HD3 simulcasts KPRC. No sign of an HD4, SCA carrier, or anything that indicates K287BQ isn’t originating its own programming.

RadioInsight has posted an article a couple days ago. In it, they mention the translator "violating FCC rules".

Yeah, putting on a mask and unlawfully going to parts of a broadcast site you have no business to be, opening up transmitter cabinets, and taking pictures. Was it you?

Measurements would not be made "at the site" but, generally, at 1km or 1mile in a circle. Better yet, using an automatic signal logger and driving around the area either in radials or in approximate circles.

Wow! Some folks take matters into their own hands. Is Entercom & Univision really that scared of a lil Transalator Broadcasting a "cazuela/gumbo" format that we need to start spewing hate and violence?

David, why encourage this? Let the powers that be sort out any allegations of wrongdoing. This blog does not need to take on a leadership role in egging on unpredictable members of the public.

Assuming this is where 92.5 is also located (because of same owner), is this why it was off air last night? I love to see friendly competition but this is taking it too far in my opinion. (Sorry don’t mean to change subject of the thread)

No, it wasn't. I don't live in the area and am currently not even near it.
