That's the point!

Exactly my point! Well said!

While several factors continue to actively contribute to Dees' not being on terrestrial radio here, there's absolutely NOTHING stopping him elsewhere. That's got to be a big worry for Clear Channel and a driving factor to why they've turned up the heat on their mantra "Dees Is Over!" in their effort to convince any who will listen to them. They know that they have no way of stopping what would be a charging revenue freight train that will be running AWAY from them instead of rolling into their coffers.

Your subject line would make one good i.d. for the station. I can hear Scott Shannon voicing it now :)

Okay, fine. In the interest of keeping KM Richards happy (which is all I personally live for, how about you?) I'll "vanilla" my previous statement. Here goes:

"Don't clump me in that bunch. In my opinion, you are right about Clear Channel pushing that anti-Dees message, but that's not what I based my previous post on. Considering the fact that Dees net worth is reported to be over $110 million, in my opinion, he doesn't need the money. To date, no upper management at KRTH have or will deny the widespread reports that they were in negotiations with Rick Dees to do mornings, then backed out at the last minute and went with Hollywood Hamilton. In my opinion, it was likely the money. And again, if the reports of Dees' net worth are at all accurate, in my opinion he doesn't need the money. Since he is an investor, in my opinion, he's not gonna work for the $1-$3 million these guys want to pay him. It's no secret Dees is an investor, so in my opinion, you will not hear him do another morning show unless he owns the venue and can really clean up financially."

There ya go. Mommy made it all better (in my opinion)... =)
Edited by TurnItOn on 06/14/05 01:43 AM.

Careful about breaking R-I Rule #5. :)

I like the new phrasing. And not just because it removed the parts I didn't like before, but because it actually fleshes out what you were saying by mentioning "widespread reports" and pointing out that KRTH management isn't talking.

If anything, the new wording makes KRTH's suits look even worse than they already did! (IMO, YMMV. Batteries not included. Member FDIC.)

It would indeed, if he used his "voice of God" to do it!

Upgrade that net worth estimate

You may need to upgrade that net worth estimate. As you may or may not know Dees is one of the creators, founders, and owners of FINE LIVING, one of Scripps Networks properties that now is making money hand over fist.

NO NEED TO Upgrade that net worth estimate

No need upgrade that estimate. I am well aware of Dees involvement with FINE LIVING. He only owns 10% of FINE LIVING, which doesn't even air on all cable and satellite systems. It has its small niche, but HGTV it ain't.
