Yes, that Jim Backus.

Even though KQV was an ABC O&O station, the "Neckties" in New York couldn't believe that network radio as they knew it was dead. It is not that the Backus, HOA, etc. programs were bad, they were geared to the audience of 1945.

In spite of those interruptions of the format, KQV still beat everybody in the ratings with the exception of Rege Cordic.
