SuperRadioFan said:Larry got the most votes (so far) in the LARadio.com subscriber poll on who should be the 3-6 pm host on the new KFWB in September.
SuperRadioFan said:I should have clarified that it wasn't a "poll" with a running vote total. Subscribers were asked to e-mail Don Barrett with who they thought should take the position. The reponse was spread out between Michael Jackson, Sam Rubin, Peter Tilden, John Ziegler, Frosty/Heidi & Frank, Joe Crummey, Marc Germain, Dan Avey, Adam Carolla, Jerry Doyle, Conway & Steckler, Michael Savage, and John Ziegler. But Larry Elder was the clear favorite with readers. Can you believe there's still people out there that want to hear Michael Jackson, Peter Tilden or [OMG] Sam Rubin?? Yikes!!
Don Paschal said:I'd go for Elder. KFWB is headed towards a right-of-center tilt (as if we needed another one
of those). Elder is a proven commodity, and if nothing else, being set aside for some
NYC interloper would be just the motivation he'd need. I think the deal is done,
all we're waiting for is the announcement, probably before Wednesday....
SuperRadioFan said:What another right-of-center tilt talk station ??? OMG do we need more of that ???
After all, there aren't enough left-of-center talk stations like NPR in SoCal radio.
Or very liberal-leaning talk stations like KTLK. Or very far far left stations like on 90.7.
There's gotta be a huge audience that are interested, right?![]()
SuperRadioFan said:Re. the "NYC interloper", I guess you mean DC-based Mark Levin?
Conway still is an employee of CBS...he has that show on KFWBRobnoxious said:I've always liked Joe Crummey but he was always a fit for lunch time listening and not evening drive. Conway & Steckler are off the table since KFI have him in their stable. Savage would work up to an extent. He'll definitely raise people's blood pressure but will fade quickly. John Ziegler is a bridge burner and torches everyone he comes in contact with. F/H&F are yesterday along with Jackson and Tilden.
Larry Elder seems like the right direction if Leykis cannot be coaxed away from squashing grapes in the Santa Ynez Valley.
