Larry James

Larry James. legendary Columbus personality at WDAK, WCLS, and WPNX passed away Sunday night after a courageous battle with cancer. Larry was a founding board member of the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame, a member of it's Council of Advisors, and a 2009 Career Achievement Inductee. Arrangements are incomplete at this time.

Radio has lost a true legend and one of its finest human beings. Larry became a dear friend during our time as co-workers at Clear Channel/Birmingham. I'll miss him on this side, but rejoice that we will see each other again on the other.

For those who knew Larry after his career as a jock and CMA Award winning Personality of the Year at WBT/Charlotte, I'm not sure how many are aware of his influence across radio AND the Country format since he was a very private guy. His obit provides an excellent career overview..........

Heaven just got the best in the biz for its Country station! Rest in peace, Larry, and I'll treasure our friendship forever.
