The following release was posted Saturday night at www.wsbradio.com

(WSB Radio) -- News/Talk 750 WSB has learned that longtime University of Georgia radio announcer Larry Munson is recovering from recent surgery.

According to an announcement by family members, Munson on Friday underwent a procedure to remove a subdural hematoma, a condition in which blood collects on the surface of the brain. While his recovery period is not yet clear, he is expected to recover fully from the procedure.

The sad reality is that Larry is not going to be in the booth much longer. It is going to be a sad day indeed when he finally does hang up his headphones. I wish him a speedy recovery.
