Some time ago, I posted some information about the passing of Larry Vance (Lawrence Swikard) Larry worked at KNUZ for many yeras from the 1960s to the 1980s, in the capacity of disc jockey as well as program director when it was rock 'n roll and again when it was country. There are many on this board who knew him. When I was at KNUZ in the 1970s, there was talk about Larry being previously married and had a son.
Today, I received the following from his son:
Chuck, I just recently found this ad about my father while doing a search on the web for info on him.. Im very heartbroken to find that he has passed. My father and i only met once in my life although i tried very hard to be somewhat in his life, without much success. If you can help guide me towards getting more information about when and where and how he died i would be very grateful.He and my mother from what i know were divorced soon after i was born in 65. He was married to a woman by the name of Janet when i met him in 1980 or 81. He lived in Amarillo the last time i talked to him about 13 years ago.. As far as I know i was his only child.
