LA's Coast 103 Fine for Website Contest... Thoughts?

I think its Baloney! Or BOLOGNA!!

The story is on the front page of radio info.

Yes Coast 103 bent the rules, giving away the Les Mis tix early. But this was just tickets to a show and I don't think a $6000 fine opposed to a $4000 fine is fair.

I think the FCC should leave this to the internet police, oh wait, there isn't anybody policing the internet. That's why teenagers watch 2 hours of porn a week and we can't say sh*t on the radio.

Okay the lack of internet police is a debate for another time, BUT will this fine open the door for the FCC to start looking at and trying to fine radio station website content? Pictures, videos, audio?

Real sarcastic high pitch tone in my voice as I say, "And this has what to do with NYC radio again?"

Thanks for nothing Neo. It's a general topic that could effect all radio including stations in NYC.

For instance... K-Rock took some heat for their billboards with those girls showing their bare backs. Those pix are up on their website. NOW that the FCC is fining website content. Do you (not Neo cause he's got nothing to offer.) think they'll start reviewing this kind of thing, if people complain?

What happened?

I just love how the Funny Clown Crew can think they still got what it takes to control radio, yet they cant even shut down the pirates that are all over brooklyn and queens.

and let's not forget Hot 97's "infamous" subway billboard campaign from about 5-10 years ago with Dr. Dre/Ed Lover covering their */*/*/ with garbage can lids, otherwise au naturel??
