Las Vegas now has two dance stations

nd2023

99.7 The Vibe is now a dance station again, living up to the original intention of the Vibe brand.

Acid 87.7 has been on for most of this year. Now, 99.7 The Vibe flipped back to an EDM format. I used to be a huge fan of dance music in the 2000s. But I can’t see any market being able to sustain two dance stations. Perhaps if the 150000 people who attended EDC all lived in Vegas, then I could see a demand for dance music. Actually (according to RI) The Vibe is being programmed by the same person who ran KGHD and has bought his staff over to oversee it. The 87.7 signal is being relaunched as Club 87.7 with a new PD, MD, and a new staff on October 13 (2023).

Yes, 99.7 The Vibe is being programmed by the Acid people. The original people from 94.5 The Vibe are not involved.
Interestingly, 99.7 first got the Vibe name because the PD of 94.5 The Vibe ended up programming 99.7 with a dance format. They kept the Vibe name for the Hot AC format, and the original PD was pissed. But at least now, 99.7 The Vibe is back to the true intent of the Vibe name, a dance station
