That's right. KSOS is on a roll right now. I always like to look at year to year comparisons and I have done that today. Comparing Aug 2011 to Aug 2012 in the money demo, here are the biggest gainers and the biggest losers.

Biggest winners from Aug 2011 to Aug 2012
KCYE, up 54% (this has been a good year for them)
KSOS, up 48% (amazing!)
KVGS, up 31% (new format)
KOAS, up 29% (pretty impressive)
KWID, up 21% (typical after the new language preference)

Biggest losers from Aug 2011 to Au 2012
KMXB, down 85% (ouch!)
KLUC, down 34% (another ouch for CBS)
KFRH, down 30% (lost another PD)
KOMP, down 25% (yeah, their share was even higher last year)
KVEG, down 18% (seem like it's been tough for all Top 40s)

Crazy to see KOMP on that list considering they are doing so well from a rank standpoint. But that tells you how compressed the market is now compared to this time last year.

In this economy and all of the bad stuff happening in the world today, it doesn't surprise me to see people turning to spiritual content. I would be curious to know if ratings of religious television programming is also higher than normal today.

What a huge year to year drop for KMXB. Where did that share go?I still wonder if any of their audience moved to KSOS? The music on KSOS sounds Hot AC, except with spiritual lyrics. Also perhaps BOB took some of MIXs listeners?
