LAST CALL FOR ANOTHER HOT OKLAHOMA NIGHT - A ROCK AND ROLL EXHIBIT
The Oklahoma History Center is announcing "the last call" for the premier exhibit Another Hot Oklahoma Night-A rock and Roll Exhibit. The popular exhibit will close at the end of December. The history center is located just east of the State Capitol on NE 23rd Street and is open from 10 a.m.
to 5 p.m. Monday thru Saturdays.
"The holiday season is perfect time to bring the family to the Oklahoma History Center to view this exhibit before it closes," said Dan Provo, museum director. "Our visitors continue to be amazed at the number of Oklahomans instrumental in the rock and roll industry, and are fascinated with their stories."
Oklahomans continue to be at the forefront of the industry. "The announcement that Leon Russell is to be inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this spring just makes the point that Oklahomans in rock and roll are considered among the leaders in this genre of music," said Jeff Moore, one of the lead curators of the exhibit. "The fact that we have so many artifacts from Leon's career on display is another reason to visit the exhibit before it closes."
After it closes at the Oklahoma History Center, part of the exhibit will be moved to OSU-Tulsa and will go on display there this spring. "We thought
this would be a natural, since so much of the rock and roll exhibit featured Tulsa recording artists. There is a great deal of interest in Tulsa in commemorating this part of their history and heritage," Moore added.
Admission to the Oklahoma History Center is: Adults: $7, Seniors (age 62+): $5,
Students: $4,Children (5 & Under): Free, and our special Family rate is:
