Last Day of WIND December 12, 1985

These airchecks were recently shared with me, this is the last hour of the heritage WIND-AM from December 12, 1985. Several jocks long associated with the station are on the airchecks.

Fabulous! I remember listening to it live on my car radio on a drive from Rockford to the Quad Cities during a business trip.

I haven't had time to listen to the whole thing, but parts 3 & 4 with Howard Miller were especially interesting. Among the tidbits....him talking about buying WIND from Westinghouse. And his claiming that at one time WIND had a 58% share. I wonder if anyone can document that!

Fabulous memories! I listened to WIND from the 50s thru the 80s. It was a great radio station in that era.

Thank you for sharing this.
