Last Song for WRXP

What about Curt Kobain's version of "Where Did You Sleep Last Night"? It was the last song he ever performed before his death in 1994 on MTV Unplugged. The vocals are just so powerful and you can even feel that end kind feeling. Curt Kobain and Nirvana made such a huge impact on Alternative. It would be an interesting, yet good way to end it all.

Were this format switch going in reverse, my guess would be Cliff Richard's "We Don't Talk Anymore."

Jeff Buckley...last goodbye.
REM...it's the end of the world as we know it
Kansas...dust in the wind
Doors...The End
or for the hipsters...former RHCP guitarist, John Frusciante "the Dying Song"

or...go out big and stupid and sure to get a fine....Larry Pierce. The Howard fans would dig it. Google and enjoy.

The same one that ended WDRE and Y100 in Philadelphia... "Alive" by Pearl Jam :)

Hard to believe Philadelphia modern rock fans got the boot twice, by the same company too (Radio One)...

That Radio One decision to flip Y100 baffles me. It was billing more than Radio One's 3 stations combined after the flip. So what if every other Radio One station is urban, if their alternative station is successful, leave it alone.

Or just use the line said at 1010 WINS just before they changed formats in 1965:

We'll be back with more music, right after the news...

Great line, but Taylor says this morning (and I intend to agree with him) that when Michaels takes over Friday morning RXP (and Q101 in Chicago) may do some sort of music stunt for a few weeks until the new formats are ready. If I were Michaels, I'd go back to the 50s and do the play-an-obnoxious-novelty-record-over-and-over-again stunt, so that you don't piss anyone off when they find out that the stunt format isn't the permanent format.

No, that wouldn't piss anyone off.

If the new format all news RXP can play "The Beatles-Sgt. Pepper(reprise)/A Day in the Life" as the last song.
